Michael D. Tarantino, M.D.Dr. Tarantino is a Founder, Medical Director and President of the Bleeding & Clotting Disorders Institute (BCDI). He is board certified in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. For nearly three decades Dr. Tarantino has devoted his medical career to the management of bleeding and clotting disorders as well as non-malignant hematology disorders. Significant part of his clinical and translational research focused on the natural history and management of Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP). Dr. Tarantino and the staff of BCDI recently launched the first multi-disciplinary integrated care clinic for children and adults with ITP. The ultimate goal of this comprehensive care program is to improve the quality of life for persons with primary ITP. Dr. Tarantino has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers, reviews, and book chapters and over 140 scientific abstracts.
